As part of my PhD work here at the MIT CS+AI Lab, I have been working for the last few years to understand the problems that software developers face when working with large projects. Eclipse has been a natural platform to build my work on top of, and Relo is the first tool built as a result of that work. Relo helps in understanding code, more technically, it tries to ‘Help Users Manage Context during Interactive Exploratory Visualization’ (paper).
The tool is free so try it out. In particular I would like to hear what the Eclipse community thinks about it. Feel free to use the feedback form on the site, post a comment here, or e-mail me any comments - if you argue well for your point, I might implement it (or try to get someone to do it).
